After Games Socializing and Party
Each week after your games, please join us at The Pub at Boulder Beer (2880 Wilderness Place, near Foothills and Valmont) for socializing and heckling. The league will occasionally offer free beverages, depending on turnout and good spirit. In addition, league players will receive a discount (happy hour prices on beer and 10% discount on food), but please remember to chip in for your table and tip well.
A league-wide party will also be scheduled for later in the summer. Details to follow.
Weather
Summer in Colorado is traditionally frequented by evening thunderstorms. We may not cancel for rain alone, as long as the fields are not too wet already. However, due to safety concerns, we will need to delay/cancel games if the risk of lightning strikes is present. Please view our lightning policy for the specifics. If games must be canceled, we will make an announcement on the website, on our hotline (303-661-0664), to gru-chat, and to the captains as best we can.
We are attempting to build in schedule flexibility in the last weeks of the season to allow for rescheduling of any games cancelled due to weather.
Policies
The usual rules are in effect.
NO dogs
NO glass
NO alcohol without a permit
NO peeing on the fields
Click here to find links to the GRU Policies.
Subs may be solicited using the gru-subs yahoo group. The policy for allowing pickup/sub players can be found on the policy page.
If you need a waiver for yourself, your players, or subs you can get it here.
Play hard, have fun. Let’s be safe out there.

About Our League
Grass Roots Ultimate Spring League is for adult mixed teams that are selected by volunteer captains based on a draft system. We provide the means for family members to play together on the same team (via player requests, aka “baggage”).
We offer two division of play: A and B. The B division is appropriate for beginners, mentors, and those casual players who are comfortable supporting beginner level play. The B division tends to also offer opportunities to practice and socialize outside of the scheduled game times. The A division is appropriate for more experienced players. Less experienced, but athletic players may succeed in the A league with the right support. Please contact us if you have questions about which league is right for you. We would like to encourage players with a combined ranking of 14+ to consider trying the A league.
After registration is completed, the captains will meet to draft the teams for the season. After the draft (which is tentatively scheduled for June 2), each captain will notify his/her selected players to notify them about the schedule and any other pertinent information. If you have not heard from your captain by the Friday before league begins (March 20), please contact us.
We will also make every attempt to keep the website updated with the rosters and schedules as soon as they are known.
For any other general league questions, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions page.
Weather Cancellations
While the weather in Colorado is usually sunny, summer nights have regular lightning storms. We will make every attempt to assess the playability of the fields and to protect the safety of our players. If games must be canceled or delayed, we will make an announcement on the website, on our hotline (303-661-0664), to gru-chat, and to the captains. Please also review the GRU Lightning Policy.
Lost and Found
If you either lose or find something at the games, you may contact our Lost and Found Coordinator at lost.found@gru.org.
Volunteers
This league and our organization is wholly run by volunteers. If you have an interest in helping us help you, please let us know. We can use help with game-day operations as well as other support and outreach activities throughout the year.

Registration
To register go to https://registration.gru.org.
Our goal is to provide league play with a 4/3 ratio of men to women. Our approach is to register as many women as possible before opening registration for men. This allows us to know with a higher degree of confidence how many teams we can form and therefore how many men’s slots will be available. Traditionally, the men’s slots for both A and B divisions fill up very quickly (within 1-3 days). Based on this experience, the registration schedule has been set as follows:
- Women Only: February 23 – March 5
- Open Registration: March 5 – March 9
About the Waitlist
On the registration page, you may see a link for Waitlist. Please sign up on the waitlist if you want to play. After that two days your release status will expire and prevent you from completing the registration. If this happens to you, just contact us and we’ll make every attempt to re-release you.
