Colorado Wildfire is kicking off their 2012 Women’s Club Ultimate season by hosting a pair of Pickup Mixers later this May. Coming back together in their 2nd year, Wildfire is seeking talented & enthusiastic players looking to improve their game, compete at the highest level possible, and lend a fantastic attitude to their up-and-coming squad!
If Wildfire sounds up your alley, come out to one or both of the casual mixers scheduled below to play some disc, meet some of the players, and learn more about their expectations for the 2012 Club Season:
Sunday, May 20 @ 2:00pm – Oakhurst Park – BBQ to follow games
Thursday, May 24 @ 6:00pm – Oakhurst Park

If you misplaced an item at league make sure to check the lost and found over the next two weeks. After the spring tournament all of the contents will be donated. You’ll find the lost and found box on one of the picnic tables under the shade structure.
Women may register now for summer league, Men will be able to register on May 21st @ Noon.

This year both A and B league will have double headers most weeks with games beginning at 5:45PM. On July 23rd Pleasant View is not available and games will be played at alternate locations possibly outside of Boulder and/or with a delayed start time.

Cost: $60
Tournament: Sat Aug 18 for A and B league at Pleasant View Sports Complex
League party will be held at the tournament.
All games will be played to 13 points. Last point is at 75 minutes.
Once again Old Chicago (1280 E. 1st Ave Broomfield CO) will be our league sponsor. Join your teammates after games for discounts on personal pizzas and pitchers of Boulder Beer.

This spring we’ll be getting team jerseys from Five Ultimate. Your team will get one color (as shown in the picture below. Thanks go to Ray Chen and Alyssa Reese for a killer design.

GRU is excited to offer our Spirit Scholarship for the second year in a row. This scholarship is to support exemplary youth who have participated in Grass Roots Ultimate programs and will be attending a four year college or university.
We will be awarding $1000 per year ($500 to 1 male and 1 female recipient), with possibility of future increases given successful fundraising efforts.
All of the information and the application form can be found on the Spirit Scholarship page. This years application deadline will be Friday, June 1st, 2012, 5:00 p.m. (no exceptions).
